Backpacking the BattlBox Way: What Every Backpacking Trip Needs

Backpacking the BattlBox Way: What Every Backpacking Trip Needs

What makes a good backpacking trip great? Is it being totally prepared for whatever may come your way? Is it looking cool while doing it? Is it having all the latest gear to be ready for anything? We believe it’s actually a mixture of all of these things. A great backpacking trip includes gear that will keep us prepared for the trail as well as gear that will keep us ahead of the times.

If you agree with us, then this is for you. We’ve put together a list of all the things you need to backpack the BattlBox way. These are things that have been tested out by yours truly, and some have even been designed and dreamt up by us as well. We wouldn’t be selling these items if we didn’t use them ourselves. The bottom line: we believe in this stuff.

So here it is, folks. The list of gear to help you backpack the BattlBox way.

Stay warm

BattlBox Reversible Beanie Cap: This is a BattlBox exclusive and can’t be found in any of our past missions. It’s one of our favorite go-to items for any weather, and it’s reliable enough to be worn in some of the most extreme backpacking conditions.

BattlBox 70% Wool Military Blanket: A good wool blanket is a basic necessity for backpacking. Made from 70% wool and 30% synthetic, this particular blanket is very warm and still fire retardant. It will continue to keep you warm even when it’s wet. Originally found in Mission 22: The Bushcraftsman, this is one of our top sellers.

BattlBox Single Man Tent: This thing was built exclusively for the ultimate BattlBoxer. It comes with a built-in mosquito net and removable rain fly, will stand up in 3 seasons, and includes stakes and a carry bag. Plus, it’s compact enough to easily store in your pack each day. This originally came in Mission 13: Solo Camping (the old Welcome Box).

BattlBox Sleeping Bag: No good backpacking trip is complete without a solid sleeping bag, and if you’re trying to backpack the BattlBox way, then this is the way to go. This tropical 3 season sleeping bag (5C / 41F) was originally found in Mission 21: Camp Comfort and Convenience.

Protect Yourself

Timahawk Tactical Tomahawk: This versatile tool was designed by survival expert Tim Ralston. It features a tomahawk edge for chopping, splitting, digging, prying or cutting, and a pry bar end, and an adze tool for cutting, scraping, digging, or chipping. Basically, it’s got it all. Any way you need to protect yourself - whether it be chopping down wood to build a shelter, splitting wood to build a fire, or even prying or cutting open something for your own safety - this is it.

Sawyer Mini Water Filtration System: Protect yourself from harmful bacteria that can be found in the water sources around you. The Sawyer MINI Water Filter is rated at 0.1 micron absolute, weighs only 2 ounces, and filters up to 100,000 gallons! If you received Mission 19: Water Purification and Storage, you already have one of these guys.

Store in style

Large Bushcraft Canvas Rucksack: Look awesome while backpacking, and you’re pretty much guaranteed to feel awesome out there. This rugged canvas pack was built for years of service in the outdoors, so you know it’ll last wherever you use it. You can also find it in Mission 22: The Bushcraftsman.

Eat well

Portable Propane Pocket Stove: One of our most popular items, this is a necessity for backpacking. It’s compatible with any single butane/butane-propane mixed fuel canisters, and fully collapses and fits into a carrying case for enhanced portability. It’s easy to set up and store away, and can originally be found in Mission 24: Camp Chef.

Have fun!

2 pack BattlBox Flasks: Backpacking should be fun! These flasks make it easy to bring the party to your campsite or trail and were first debuted in Mission 21: Camp Comfort and Convenience.
